How to prepare for your Oxbridge interview without over-preparing
They're not looking for a polished performance. They're looking for someone who can think, get stuck, and keep going. I'll show you what that actually looks like.

What I'll cover
- What interviewers are actually scoring: it's not whether you get the right answer, it's how you get there
- How to think out loud: the single most useful skill in an interview, and one you can practise at home
- What to do when you're stuck: because everyone gets stuck, and how you handle it is the interesting part
- The difference between prepared and over-prepared: why memorised answers actually hurt you, and what to do instead
- What to read and what not to bother with: the shortest useful reading list I can give you
Who it's for
Anyone who has applied for biological sciences at Oxford or Cambridge this year: Natural Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry or a related course. You don't need to know yet whether you have an interview. Parents and teachers are welcome too, and teachers are welcome to share the link with their students. You don't need to be working with me or to have read anything in advance.
Save your spot
I'll email you the Zoom link the day before, and a reminder an hour before we start. The recording goes to everyone who signs up, so you won't miss anything if you can't make it live.
Who's running it
I'm Flora, a Cambridge graduate and Oxford-qualified biology teacher. I've spent seven years in secondary science classrooms and over a thousand hours tutoring biology one-to-one. I prepare students for the ESAT, the personal statement and the interview.
I'm not going to tell you what to say. I'm going to teach you how to show a tutor who you actually are.
Questions you might have
Is it really free?
Yes. No card, no catch. I run it because it's the quickest way for me to help the most people at once, and because some of you will want one-to-one support afterwards. But there's no pitch during the session, and the recording is yours either way.
Will I get a recording?
Yes. Everyone who signs up gets the recording by email within 24 hours, whether you came live or not.
Do I need Zoom?
You can join from a browser without installing anything. If you'd rather use the app, the free version works fine. The link will be in the email I send you.
Can I ask questions during the session?
Yes, the last ten minutes are for Q&A. You can type in the Zoom chat or unmute and ask directly.
I'm a parent. Should I watch?
Absolutely. Half of what I'll say is just as useful for parents as it is for the student. You'll understand what the interview is actually testing, which makes it much easier to support the preparation at home.
What if I can't make that date?
Sign up anyway. You'll get the recording, and if I run it again I'll email you first.

My free guide covers the same ground in writing: what actually happens in an Oxbridge biology interview, based on the nine published mock interviews. Get a copy here.
Want to try it for real? The interview diagnostic is a 45-minute mock interview with written feedback, £125.
